Chandos Court is a proposal to place two new units on top of an existing Sixties apartment block for a property developer.
We enjoyed the idea that the exterior of the extension would feel both 'of' and 'not of' the host building. The materials and language are similar but there is a shift in window positions which is intended to create a subtle sense of ambiguity.
Planning approval was recently granted by Camden Council.
The proposal will be built using off-site construction so that the finished extension can be craned into position thereby minimising disruption to the existing tenants.
